Double win for Stitch share plan communications at GEO Awards

27 April 2018

Jane Darlington

Congratulations to HSBC and Lenovo, who both took home an award for Best Share Plan Communication at this year’s Global Equity Organisation (GEO) Awards ceremony in Orlando.

The GEO awards ceremony is always a highlight of the annual GEO conference. Over 20 awards are given to individuals and companies to celebrate their excellence, leadership and dedication to global share plans. For us, the highlight of the awards ceremony this year was the Best Plan Communications category. Whilst we weren’t able to be there in person, this year we had submitted a couple of award nominations so nervously waited to receive news from Orlando.

We were delighted to find out that both HSBC and Lenovo won awards for Best Plan Communication; HSBC in the over 90,000 employees and Lenovo in the 25 to 90,000 category.

We’re really proud of our involvement in both these global share plan communication campaigns. HSBC wanted to breathe new life into their UK and global share plans, with new creative positioning and content. The ‘Today’s savings, tomorrow’s possibilities’ campaign has been a resounding success in the UK and together with a global ‘Make your life a little brighter’ campaign, HSBC have undoubtedly achieved their objective. Hot on the heels of their win at the Proshare awards last December, the GEO award is the icing on the cake.

Lenovo Shares is an established feature of the Lenovo global reward package. Lenovo global compensation team wanted the Lenovo Shares communications to be easy to understand yet exciting enough to engage their tech-savvy employees. Stitch came up with an eye-catching design, built over 35 different country specific websites, animations, emails, posters, infographic flyers, canteen stickers, banners and a suite of digital assets for their screens and online spaces. The team are over the moon to win the award for best share plan communication.

Congratulations to all our other industry friends who came away with a shiny trophy this year especially Sage and Brewdog, two UK based companies we follow with great interest here at Stitch. Special mention also to Phil Ainsley from Equiniti, the winner of this year’s Pioneer Award.

As this year’s conference draws to a close, our thoughts turn to next year. The twentieth anniversary GEO conference will be held in the eclectic and beautiful city of Amsterdam.

Do you have space on your shelf for an award?

Over the past year Stitch have helped five of our clients win top industry accolades. Rio Tinto, Aviva, Lenovo, HSBC and Diageo have all won awards at Proshare and GEO for their share plan communications. We’ve helped them achieve their plan communication objectives by building campaigns that engage employees and achieve the results they need; an increase in take up, successfully launching a global plan, new content production or creative repositioning.

Stitch are experts in making the complicated clear. Talk to us about how we can help you build a global share plan communications campaign worthy of a GEO award.

Just in case

If you’ve been living on the moon and not heard of GEO, here’s a bit about the member-driven, not-for-profit organisation. GEO was founded in 1999 to support reward and benefit teams dealing with the challenges of creating, managing and administering global employee share plans. The annual conference brings together many of their 4,500 members to talk about the hottest issues facing global share plans.
